Norman M. Friedland
Founder
Starting his legal career at Cravath, Swaine and Moore, Mr. Friedland has more than three decades of transactional experience in public offerings, private placements, IPOs and venture investments. He has worked with prominent venture capital funds, entrepreneurs, and firms including Hambrecht & Quist, Robertson Stephens, Montgomery Securities, First Boston, and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Friedland was general counsel to New York State Economic Development Corporation with responsibility for Times Square Redevelopment and the Rensselaer Technology Transfer Incubator. He has advised healthcare and biotech focused venture capital funds and founding teams of life science companies, including the National Foundation for Cancer Research and a European venture with nanofluidics diagnostic technology. He has deep expertise in Program Related Investments, giving commentary to the IRS and developing financial models using PRIs that have been evaluated by MIT’s Laboratory for Financial Engineering.
Sheryl WuDunn
Founder
Sheryl WuDunn, the first Asian-American reporter to win a Pulitzer Prize, is a co-founder of FullSky Partners, a consulting firm focusing on double-bottom line ventures mostly in healthcare and technology.
WuDunn is also co-author of five books, including Tightrope: Americans Reaching for Hope, about challenges of the working class. Previously, WuDunn was a vice president in the investment management division at Goldman, Sachs & Co., and has been a senior managing director at Mid-Market Securities, a FINRA-registered broker dealer.
She also is one of a small handful of people who have worked at The New York Times both as an executive and journalist: in management roles in both the Strategic Planning and Circulation Sales departments at The Times; as editor for international markets, energy and industry.
She was elected this year to the Harvard University Board of Overseers. She is also a former member of the Board of Trustees at Princeton and Cornell. WuDunn has a BA from Cornell, an MPA from Princeton and an MBA from HBS.
Brett Oberman
Founder
Mr. Oberman brings over 30 years of entrepreneurial and operational experience to Fullsky. He started his first venture while still an undergraduate at Harvard where he earned degrees in both Physics and Chemistry. He later founded, built and sold a series of companies in a variety of industries including training, retail, hospitality, pharmaceutical sales training and, most recently, healthcare. Mr. Oberman has also been an active investor in several residential real estate developments.
